Engaged and empowered employees deliver better customer experiences. And that impacts your bottom line. When people are equipped with knowledge and expertise to do their jobs, they deliver results — both personally and professionally.
A robust employee learning plan recognizes all the stages of an employee's lifecycle and has a measurable, positive impact on recruitment, development and retention. Whether you need to increase qualified applicants in your pipeline, implement a new learning program for your business or elevate an already established program, we want to be your strategic partner.
Building a talent pipeline ensures the right people are available for the right jobs, right when you need them. We offer programs that support your existing recruiting and development processes and promote strategic alliances with local community colleges or technical/trade schools.
A clearly defined career development plan is an investment in your employees that helps them grow their skills and their engagement. Through our service, sales, marketing, leadership and safety career development processes, we'll work with you to understand your business goals and your employees' growth goals and then build learning solutions that will help you achieve both.
Once high-performing employees enter your organization, you want to keep them there — retaining existing talent is easier and more cost-effective than developing it from scratch. Investing in development and additional training opportunities helps sustain an engaged workforce and decrease turnover.

This year, the Melbourne Learning Centre celebrates a major milestone in technician career development with the 40th anniversary of the Dealer Top Apprentice Program (DTAP).
The five-day, Caterpillar-sponsored program recognizes, challenges and rewards the skills and abilities of top technician apprentices in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
Following a rigorous local competition, each dealer sends their best apprentice to compete in a number of technical, business and interpersonal tasks. Guest speakers and visits to leading businesses round out the week where the highest achiever receives the designation of "Top Apprentice."
To date, approximately 240 apprentices have participated in DTAP. In 2017, the program expanded to include Think Big graduates as a pilot program for a global competition. With the success of the pilot, there is intent to expand DTAP to create a Global Top Technician program.
ANZ dealers typically hire about 350 first-year apprentices annually. Upon completion of the 4-year program, graduates move into shop or field service technician roles with many advancing to other roles in the dealership during their career.
